Great module - clean & fast....

Can you configure Active Media (or MP3) player tp lauch ias a pop-up window when a user click son a linkwhich references the file to be played?  ie there i a table of files listing track, album, artist which can be filtered/sorted and then there is a link called 'play sample' which launches the player?

Hi,

thanks for the feedback!

If you have some kind of list with authors and songs, you can use MediaFileId URL parameter to tell the module which file to play.
MediaFileId is FileId from your DNN database.

Example URL:

http://www.examplesite.com/tabid/123/Default.aspx?MediaFileId=42

If you want the link to be opened in new window (popup), please do the following:

[a href=http://www.examplesite.com/tabid/123/Default.aspx?MediaFileId=42 target="_blank"]Song Name[/a]

Note: Change [ ] with < >

Greetings Considero,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to identify the MediaFileId URL parameter for the mp3 files I'm trying to play through the Active Media player. I looked in the DNN db but did not see any references at all to a MediaFileId. Is there a

specific db table name I should be looking for?

I would love to be able to point to any given media file on my DNN site and play it through the Active Media player. By the way the site that hosts the media files is the same site that using the Active Media player.

Please help.

Thanks,
Jforte-

Ok thanks.

I found the "File" table in the db and was also able to locate the mp3 as well as it's associated FileId. However, when I tried launching the media player from a link using the MediaFileId URL parameter as suggested, I get a page load (usually the home page) with no playable media.

I tried both methods but to no prevail:
1. Default.aspx?MediaFileId=2658
2. Default.aspx?FileId=2658

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
